Hello!

I am Ms. Mandy, the speech language pathologist. I provide speech therapy to students who have an educational need for speech intervention through the special education program.

 

This year, I serve Crutchfield Elementary, Wakefield Elementary, and Grayson Christian School. I have been working with children since 2008 and earned my BS and MS from Texas Woman's University. I began working at SISD in January 2021. 

 

As a speech language pathologist, I believe communication is as unique as each individual and my job is to support every student in their journey to find themselves and communicate with the world around them in a comfortable way, whether with their voice, augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), or sign language. I believe it is important to answer "why" in a thoughtful manner, allowing students to understand the world around them. And I believe play is the best learning experience. 

 

At home, I have a son named Dylan who is a freshman in high school. We have 2 dogs, Barkley and Eli, who are Great Pyrenees mixes, and we also have 2 cats, Tomi and Draco. In my spare time, I love to bake, listen to podcasts, and being creative.
